Telangectasias or "spider veins" around the nose and cheek area create a mottled and uneven skin appearance. Purple, blue and red veins on the leg are one of the most common complaints made by patients about the appearance of their legs. SKIN MediSpa offers laser treatment of spider veins up to 3mm in diameter with the latest in FDA-approved laser technology.

Why are these treatments so effective?

The laser's long pulses play an important role in matching the thermal relaxation time of blood vessels. Due to the absorption in hemoglobin and depth of penetration, our laser provides a combination that is well suited for the treatment of both small superficial facial telangectasias as well as the larger, deep seated vascular targets such as leg veins. It is also effective at treating Hemangiomas and resistant port wine stains. These vascular lesions are untreatable with any other wavelength.

How does it work?

The penetration depth of 1064 nm wavelength is combined with extended duration pulse technology, where the pulses approximate the thermal relaxation time of vessels up to several millimeters in diameter. The fluence, delivered in adjustable pulse widths for various size vessels, causes gentle intravascular cavitations and seals them.

The number of treatments required to achieve optimal clearance of vascular lesions is dependent on the size of the lesions and the diameter of the vessels. The laser provides significant improvement in existing spider veins and other vascular lesions, however laser treatments do not prevent new veins or lesions from appearing.
