This procedure takes only 15 to 30 minutes and results last for 3 months to 10 or more years, depending on the product chosen.

How long will the Injectable Fillers last?

The duration of the correction achieved with any injectable filler is dependent on the type of filler used. There are many different products used as injectable fillers for wrinkles and creases. Individual patient preferences and differences in product characteristics will determine which injectable product is best for each patient and can be discussed during the consultation process. Depending on the specific product used and the area of injection, temporary fillers usually produce results that last anywhere from 3 to 24 months. Products that are referred to as permanent fillers usually offer life long or very long term (12 years or more) correction/augmentation.

What areas of the face are normally treated with Injectable Fillers?

The range of products offered at SKIN MediSpa includes the very latest and most effective injectable products available. These products are typically used for smoothing and contouring smile lines or nasolabial folds, wrinkles at the corner of the mouth, vertical lip lines, acne scars, facial defects or recessions, frown lines, restoring volume in and around the cheeks, filling in the trough underneath the eyes, providing lip definition and modest enhancement or correcting asymmetrical features.

Will the Injectable Fillers become hard, calcified or noticeable to touch?

Today's fillers are much improved over the injectable fillers of the past. Clients can expect these products to remain soft and take on the characteristics of the surrounding tissue.

Does the treatment hurt?

A mild localized anesthetic can be used to minimize or usually eliminate the pain associated with this type of treatment. The numbing effects will wear off in 15 minutes to as long as a couple of hours depending on the anesthetic used. There is usually no pain experienced after the treatment.

Are there any lingering effects of the treatment and when can I return to my normal activities?

There is minor inflammation or swelling from the treatment as a result of the expansion of facial tissue. This normally resolves well within 24 hours but has been reported to last as long as 48 hours for some clients. Most clients resume normal activities only a few hours after receiving treatment. Application of ice intermittently for a short period after the treatment will help reduce any swelling.

Is there any activity restriction after I receive the treatment?

You should avoid activities that will strain your facial features for 48 hours following treatment as much as possible. For example, avoid activities such as strenuous laughing, using a straw, chewing gum, etc.
Otherwise normal activities are fine.

Will I need a skin test to determine if I will have a reaction to the Injectable Fillers?
