Actinic keratoses are scaly or crusty bumps that form on sun exposed areas such as the face, scalp, arms, and hands. They range in size from as small as a pinhead to an inch across. They may be light or dark, tan, pink, red, a combination of these, or the same color as ones' skin, and are sometimes more recognizable by touch than by sight. Occasionally, these lesions may itch or produce a pricking or tender sensation, especially after being in the sun. They may disappear only to reappear later.
Actinic keratoses are related to past sun exposure and develop more often in fair-skinned people. If left untreated, these lesions can increase in size and develop into skin cancer, and are therefore considered a "precancer".

- SKIN Epidermal Peels contain a unique blend of lactic acid, kojic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, enzymes and other nutrients in various proportions. Application of these special preparations infuse the skin with needed nutrients and active ingredients that cause the upper levels of the epidermis to slough off over the days following the treatment. - Prescription Medications may be prescribed in conjunction with SKIN Treatments to maximize the effects of the treatments and ensure fast results. These are prescribed by Dr. Scott Barr, our Medical Aesthetic Consultant, who will discuss this decision with you during your consultation.
Client can expect a complete clearance of the actinic keratosis lesion and an overall improvement in skin texture and skin tone.
